2. General Information
We take the protection of your personal data seriously and treat it confidentially and in accordance with statutory data protection regulations and this privacy policy. You can generally use our website without providing personal data. Where personal data (such as your name or email address) is collected on our pages, this is always done, as far as possible, on a voluntary basis.
3. Hosting
Our website is hosted by Hostinger International Ltd., 61 Lordou Vironos Street, 6023 Larnaca, Cyprus. When you visit our website, the host collects various data in so-called server log files (see Section 4). Processing is carried out on the basis of our legitimate interest in the secure, fast, and efficient provision of our online offering (Art. 6 (1)(f) GDPR). We have concluded a data processing agreement with our host.
4. Server Log Files
When you access our website, information is automatically collected that your browser transmits to us: browser type and version, the operating system used, referrer URL, the host name of the accessing computer, the time of the server request, and the IP address. This data is not merged with other data sources. Collection is based on Art. 6 (1)(f) GDPR; our legitimate interest lies in the technically error-free presentation and the security of the website. Log files are automatically deleted after a short period.
5. Cookies and Consent
Our website uses cookies — small text files stored on your device. Technically necessary cookies (for example for the comment function) are stored on the basis of Art. 6 (1)(f) GDPR. All other cookies, in particular for analytics or advertising purposes, are only set with your consent (Art. 6 (1)(a) GDPR). You can manage or withdraw your consent at any time via the cookie settings on our website. You can also set your browser to inform you about the placement of cookies, to allow cookies only in individual cases, to exclude the acceptance of cookies generally, and to delete cookies that have already been stored.
6. Advertising — Google AdSense
This website uses Google AdSense, an advertising service provided by Google LLC, 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA (“Google”). Google AdSense uses cookies and comparable technologies to display relevant advertising.
- Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website or other websites.
- Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this and/or other sites on the Internet.
- You may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings. You can also opt out of third-party vendors’ use of cookies for personalized advertising at www.aboutads.info/choices.
Where legally required, advertising cookies are only used with your consent (Art. 6 (1)(a) GDPR); otherwise processing is based on our legitimate interest in financing our website (Art. 6 (1)(f) GDPR). Further information can be found in Google’s privacy policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy and https://policies.google.com/technologies/ads.
7. Amazon Associates Program (Affiliate Links)
We participate in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program and comparable Amazon affiliate programs, an affiliate advertising program of Amazon.com, Inc. and its affiliates. Our pages contain labeled advertising links to Amazon products; as an Amazon Associate we earn from qualifying purchases. This comes at no additional cost to you.
When you click an affiliate link, you leave our website and are taken to Amazon. Amazon may set cookies to attribute the origin of an order. We ourselves do not transmit any personal data to Amazon; once you click, Amazon’s own privacy notice applies: https://www.amazon.com/gp/help/customer/display.html. The legal basis for including these links is Art. 6 (1)(f) GDPR — our legitimate interest in the economic operation of our online offering.
8. Google Services (Search Console, Analytics)
We use services provided by Google to analyze and improve our offering. Google Search Console does not process personal data of website visitors on our site. Where Google Analytics is used, processing is carried out exclusively on the basis of your consent pursuant to Art. 6 (1)(a) GDPR, and your IP address is truncated. You can withdraw any consent given at any time with effect for the future. Further information: https://policies.google.com/privacy.
9. Contact (Contact Form and Email)
If you contact us via a contact form or by email, the information you provide will be stored by us for the purpose of processing your request and in case of follow-up questions. We do not share this data without your consent. Processing is based on Art. 6 (1)(b) GDPR (pre-contractual measures) or Art. 6 (1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in handling inquiries). This data remains with us until you ask us to delete it, the purpose for its storage no longer applies, or statutory retention periods expire.
10. Comment Function
If you leave a comment, the comment, the time it was created, and the name you chose are stored. In addition, your IP address is stored for our security in case a comment contains unlawful content. Comments and their associated data are stored until the commented content is completely deleted or the comments must be deleted for legal reasons. The legal basis is Art. 6 (1)(f) GDPR.
11. SSL/TLS Encryption
For security reasons and to protect the transmission of confidential content, this site uses SSL/TLS encryption. You can recognize an encrypted connection by “https://” in the address bar and the lock symbol in your browser.
12. Your Rights Under the GDPR
- Access (Art. 15 GDPR) to the data we hold about you
- Rectification of inaccurate data (Art. 16 GDPR)
- Erasure (Art. 17 GDPR) and restriction of processing (Art. 18 GDPR)
- Data portability (Art. 20 GDPR)
- Objection to processing based on Art. 6 (1)(e) or (f) GDPR (Art. 21 GDPR)
- Withdrawal of consent given, with effect for the future (Art. 7 (3) GDPR)
- Right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority (Art. 77 GDPR). The authority responsible for us is the Bavarian State Office for Data Protection Supervision (BayLDA), Promenade 18, 91522 Ansbach, Germany.
To exercise your rights, an informal email to info@szm-it.de is sufficient.
13. Information for U.S. Residents
Depending on your state of residence (for example under the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended by the CPRA), you may have the right to know what personal information we collect, to request access to or deletion of that information, and to opt out of the “sale” or “sharing” of personal information. We do not sell your personal information for money. The use of advertising and analytics cookies described above may, however, be considered “sharing” for cross-context behavioral advertising under some U.S. state laws; you can opt out at any time via the cookie settings on this website and via the opt-out links in Section 6. To make a privacy request, please contact us at info@szm-it.de. We will not discriminate against you for exercising these rights.
14. Children’s Privacy
This website is intended for a general, adult audience and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 16 (or under 13 in the United States, in the sense of the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act, COPPA). If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it.
15. Storage Duration
Unless a more specific storage period is stated in this privacy policy, your personal data remains with us until the purpose for its processing no longer applies. If you assert a justified request for deletion or withdraw your consent, your data will be deleted unless statutory retention obligations (for example under tax or commercial law) prevent this.
16. Changes to This Privacy Policy
This privacy policy is dated July 2026. As our website develops or in response to changed legal or regulatory requirements, it may become necessary to amend it. The current version is always available on this page.
